About Me

I love my life. I have been blessed with countless positive experiences and people in my life. I also love making people happy. Joy is only doubled when it shared.

I'm a citizen of the world. By age 8, I had already lived in 3 countries. Originally from Ghana, I've been resident in Los Angeles, CA since 2004. I grew up in Europe - Switzerland and England for the most part - and later lived in Russia for a while. Looking back, I've lived on four continents, just as many countries and visited a couple dozen and still counting.

At 23, I became the Deputy Director of the Pan African Historical Theater Festival (PANAFEST) and grew the festival from 2 cities and 6 stages to 6 cities and 27 stages with more than 1500 artists from around the world.

By 25 I had established my own event production company and added a branding and marketing division to it the following year. In 1999 I was commissioned my the Government of Ghana to create, produce and direct the cornerstone millennium gala for the country, and was soon after tapped to produce the Miss Universe Ghana pageants as well.

I have since produced and/or directed more than 250 major live events; published my first book, lived in 3 more countries; traveled to dozens more and plan to do a lot more of that.

Soon after emigrating to the US, I was elected Co-Chair of the Black Association of Documentary Filmmakers West (BADWest). In 2011, at age 40, I graduated Valedictorian of my second Master's program class with almost 10 Program Directors' Awards. I later published my first book I Know Why The Cheshire Cat Grins: When  Shift Happens and also served as Board Secretary for the nonprofit organization The Thrive Tribe Foundation.

The Personal Side of Me

Hugging is one of my favorite things to do. I wish more people would do it.  It makes human connections and interactions so much more meaningful.

I love horses and enjoy horseback riding on occasion. There’s just something alluring in the strong, muscular elegance and grace of a thoroughbred. I also enjoy parasailing, swimming, reading, deep conversations and writing.

I have an insatiable appetite for new information, exploring new places, cultures and meeting new people. That’s why I love to travel. Every now and then, I get the urge to go someplace I haven’t been before, do something I haven’t done yet. And I’ll try most things twice: the first time just for kicks, the second time to make sure I really liked it or really didn’t like it.

One of my earliest passions has been flying. I still intend to become a licensed pilot and I love my MS Flight Simulator. My best birthday gift was flying a Cessna 182 up in the skies of Southern California – I actually flew the little beast!

I love to cook, bake, eat, drink and entertain guests. I enjoy savoring the delicately layered flavors of a finely prepared dish. Just know that I never follow recipes – I always have to make it my own….what can I say? I’m a Leo.

There’s nothing more refreshing than an expertly mixed drink. Some of my favorite basics include a Kamikaze, a Mango Mojito and a Long Island Iced Tea when I’m doing my better work.

Dessert? Count me in! I’ll skip chocolate, though. It’s just not my thing.
